I am a US citizen, incorporated, and fully insured. I reside in Southern California, and I am available to travel 50%
My background encompasses a wide range of IT solution consulting projects.
I have over 20 years of experience as an Agile IT Project Manager, Scrum Master, and Business Analyst. My background includes a wide range of solution consulting projects for companies big and small.
I often get hired by clients who are trying to “fix” troubled projects
Because of my process and technical depth in a variety of industries, I often get hired by clients who are trying to “fix” troubled projects. My background and skills are uniquely suited to root cause and risk analysis. If your project can be saved, I’ll help you to do it. If it cannot, I will document for you exactly why.
I consult with clients who are seeking mentoring and best-practice guidance with their Agile transformation
I also work with clients who are seeking mentoring and best-practice guidance with their Agile transformations. My professional experience, combined with my formal education in project management (PMP, PMI-ACP. CSM, SAFe), allows me to guide corporate executives and IT project teams through the Agile framework and effective backlog management. I know the rules, and when you should (or should not) bend them.
My approach is always consultative. My goal is to help you level-up your software development processes and scale a “right-weight” framework that supports teamwork and growth – long term.
Collaborative Leadership
My leadership style is collaborative and empathetic. My communication style is direct. I am a former high-school and college English (as a Second Language) teacher. This experience displays in my ability to run a tight meeting, facilitate JAD sessions, manage stakeholders, and guide c-level executives through weighty and nuanced technical discussions.
My mantra is teamwork and transparency. These values enable me to operate effectively in matrixed environments where partnership and influence are important drivers for success.
Technical Expertise
As Scrum Master and Agile Coach, I have shepherded a variety of custom application development projects from business requirements to go-live. These projects were primarily custom BI dashboards and e-commerce offerings (consumables and services). Dashes were designed in responsive formats to support both desktop and mobile devices (iOS, Android). The goal of these projects was to provide real-time BI analytics or to monitor inbound and outbound EDI and API transmissions.
As part of my projects, many clients chose to replatform their on-prem databases to cloud providers; therefore, most of my projects involve at least one track for cloud migration (credentials in Azure, AWS). Depending on the project, the instance was designed to support executive dashboards with real-time / historical analytics, general data warehousing queries, or to expand the enterprise’s e-commerce capacity by implementing virtual servers.
I also assist many clients with their DevOps “COE/Engineering Excellence” projects. In my roles as a Project Manager, Scrum Master, Agile Coach, and Systems Analyst, I worked closely with the client’s internal teams and 3rd party vendors to define business and functional requirements and priorities for CI/CD development and delivery. These internal projects were generally designed to retire technical debt, refactor custom platforms, enhance system interfaces (SAP, Oracle, Siebel), and add B2B, B2C services and consumables to multi-channel e-commerce sites.
Several of my clients are large, multi-billion dollar/multi-national enterprises; therefore, these DevOps efforts are complex, cross-functional, and included integration and with Warehouse/Logistics, Purchasing (JDA), and Finance (Oracle and Siebel) for billing and revenue reconciliation systems.
I am a power-user of several popular workflow and program management tools including JIRA, MS Project, Clarity, PlanView, Monday, ServiceNow, ADO, Aha! and MS Dynamics.
